SKIN CARE TIPS FOR WOMEN OVER 50 YEARS OLD: HOW SHOULD YOU DO IT
Skin care is everything, regardless of age. It is all about keeping your skin healthy. In fact, with a proper skin care routine, you might even be able to eliminate the need for makeup.
As you age, your skin should be your biggest concern. You can follow all the makeup tips for women over 50 years old, but it is all useless if you do not know how to look after your skin.
There are several components to an efficient skincare routine for aging women. Let us discuss them one by one!
1. Moisturize
You cannot underestimate the power of moisturizing, especially as you age. It keeps your skin hydrated. Apply a moisturizing cream on your face every day, and you will be surprised how your youthful glow unveils.
At the same time, make sure that you use products with rich moisturizing properties. If you have extremely dry skin, you may avail the help of a hyaluronic acid serum, which helps retain moisture. When using this serum, make sure that you apply it before you apply moisturizer.

2. Exfoliate
Exfoliating is just as important as moisturizing every day. In fact, they come together as they play significant role in preventing dry skin, which does not make an excellent base for makeup.
Use a facial scrub every day. Ideally, you should exfoliate in the shower but you can do it any way you want. It is just that it is more convenient in the shower as it creates less mess.
Since you need to do it every day, you might not find a facial scrub practical. Do not worry because there is an alternative. Instead of a facial scrub, you can use a wash cloth dipped in coconut oil.
3. Cleanse
Make sure that you wash your face every morning as soon as you wake up and every night before you go to bed. It is all basic hygiene, actually.
If you are wearing makeup, make sure that you remove it before hitting the sack. You need to let your face breathe and enjoy a good night sleep. Leaving products on your face overnight is never a good, healthy idea.
4. Maintain
One of the best ways to prevent wrinkle formation and appearance is to maintain your skin. You can do this by avoiding direct sunlight exposure. This also prevents the appearance of sunspots.
If you cannot really avoid going out and exposing yourself under the heat of the sun, make sure that you apply sunscreen on your skin. Use products with SPF, especially on your face. You would not want an uneven skin tone at the end of the day.

MAKEUP TIPS FOR WOMEN OVER 50 YEARS OLD: WHAT SHOULD YOU CHANGE
As you age, the needs of your skin changes. Your physical features change as well. Have you adapted to these changes or are you still employing the same makeup routine you have established 10, 20, or maybe 30 years ago? Is it still working out for you or are you just trying to convince yourself that it still is?
You have aged and the times have changed as well. It is about time to master a new routine that makes you look younger and more vibrant. Here, I will be sharing with you the best makeup tips for women over 50 years old today!
1. CC Cream And Foundation
With a mature skin, you would want to have a dewy base for your makeup. You can achieve this by using a CC cream, which effectively covers imperfections and redness. It also has a way of making enlarged pores seem reduced. Choose one with an anti-aging property and SPF, both of which prevent further skin damage.
Then, heavy foundations are things of the past. The lighter you apply, the better.

2. Concealer
While CC cream can cover imperfections, you might still need a concealer. This is useful for areas requiring more concealing such as areas of pigmentation and the dark circles under your eyes.
3. Blush
For older women, cream or liquid formulations of blush are highly recommended. Go for soft tones, just enough to bring life to your cheeks. Make sure that you never get one with glitters, which will only settle down in your wrinkles. That is something you would never want to happen!
4. Face Powder
At an older age, using face powder is quite complex. Apply too much and it ruins your entire look, emphasizing your wrinkles instead of concealing them. Use something dry and cakey and it does the same. Apply the bare minimum, just enough to set the makeup.
You would also want to opt for a face powder with anti-aging properties. It helps keep you youthful.
5. Eyeshadow
Eye makeup can be tricky at an old age. You have hooded eyelids and wrinkled skin, all of which make it difficult to perfect eye makeup.
When applying eyeshadow, you would want to stick to light and natural colors. Apply it on your eyelids followed by an eyeliner to produce a younger look as your eyes seem “popped”.
When applying eyeliner, make sure that you put more on your top lash line than on your bottom lash line. For easier application, use a soft eyeliner pencil.
Do not use bright eyeshadow colors. The same goes for dark and heavy colors, which can worsen how your hooded eyelids appear.
6. Mascara
I am not sure if this still has to be said out loud, but always use a black mascara. For a deeper look, you can enhance it with a tinted primer.
There are two ways you can approach your lashes. First, you can curl them before applying mascara. Otherwise, you may apply mascara; then, attach false lashes. As you age, you lose your lashes; so, it is highly recommended that you use false lashes.
If you have the budget, you may buy a lash enhancing serum. You can apply this every night to make your lashes longer and stronger. With this serum, your lashes also become harder to break or lose.
7. Eyebrow Pencil
Eyebrows get thinner as you age, especially if you have already treated them in various ways. Sometimes, the only remedy is filling them. However, it is better to use shadow than an eyebrow pencil. This helps achieve softer, more natural-looking eyebrows.
If you want better solutions, you may undergo microblading or eyebrow tattooing. However, personally, I prefer microblading. It looks better with hair-like strokes; and the specialized pigment does not discolor over time.
8. Lipstick
To complete a vibrant look, you need a full, plump lips that are not dry and dull. For older people, it is highly recommended to go for a lipstick that is a shade darker than their natural skin tone. Do not go for bright or blood red, or basically anything that calls attention. You would want to keep it simple.
Your lips have also definitely lost volume over time. The best way to address this is to apply lip balm before you apply lipstick. If you have dry lips, it is better to go for a moisturizing lip balm.
It is not ideal for women your age to use lip gloss. It would make you look like you are trying hard!
TO SUM IT UP…
Aging can be difficult to process at first. We take it harder than men do. The first few months or years we see gray hair or wrinkles on our face are tough. It affects our self-confidence.
Thankfully, skin care is a thing. By practicing the suitable skin care routine that works for us, we can counter these awful signs of aging.
With proper skin care, we might not even need to go through the hassle of wearing makeup. However, should we need to, we need to remember that we need to apply makeup according to our age. There are certain types of product that no longer works for us and that is perfectly fine.
There is a shift in the way we pick the colors we wear, the way we apply certain products, but that is only to make sure that we look 10 or even 20 years younger.
